Joint Anglo-French Dress History STUDY DAY, November 13, 2009, to celebrate the exhibition: ‘Accessoires et objets, témoignages de vies de femmes à Paris 1940-1944’ at the Mémorial du Maréchal Leclerc de Hauteclocque et de la Libération de Paris, Musée Jean Moulin, Montparnasse, Paris.

This exhibition is the result of work undertaken by Christine Levisse-Touze (Conservatrice en Chef, Mémorial du Maréchal Leclerc de Hauteclocque et de la Libération de Paris), with Dominique Veillon (CNRS) and Fabienne Falluel and Marie-Laure Gutton on behalf of the Musée de la Mode de  la Ville de Paris, Palais Galliera.

Audience: Post graduate dress history students from the Groupe Histoire de la Mode, Paris and the University of Brighton Research Collective for Dress History and Fashion Studies, together with staff from EHESS and CNRS, dress curators from Palais Galliera, Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and their colleagues and friends.

Please note that Catherine Bernstein’s documentary film, The Murder of a Hat Maker:  Fanny Berger’, is being shown in the exhibition.
